Hi there, welcome to MoaSub. This is a conversion example.
Subtitles from YouTube and online courses are usually VTT (WebVTT). Strip the timestamps and tags and you are left with the script of the video, ready for lecture notes, translation drafts, blog posts or an AI summarizer.
YouTube auto-generated VTT adds a timing tag to every word and repeats the previous line in the next cue, so a plain copy shows each sentence two or three times. This converter removes the tags and keeps a line only once when it is identical to the line right before it, giving you a readable transcript.
3 questions people ask before converting
Yes. Upload the .vtt file from YouTube Studio or a subtitle downloader as it is. Word timing tags and repeated auto-caption lines are cleaned up too.
When two lines in a row are exactly the same, only one is kept. The rule exists to remove auto-caption repeats, so a phrase genuinely said twice in a row also appears once. Lines with something else in between are kept.
All tags are removed and only the dialogue is kept. If you need speaker labels, convert the VTT to SRT instead, which keeps the tags.
