WEBVTT 00:00:01.000 --> 00:00:03.500 Hi there, welcome to MoaSub. 00:00:04.000 --> 00:00:06.200 This is a subtitle conversion example.
SRT is the most widely used subtitle format in desktop players and video editors, but web browsers cannot read SRT directly. The track element of HTML5 video only supports WebVTT (.vtt), so to add subtitles to a website or web app you need to convert them to VTT.
The two formats are almost identical, but the details differ. VTT needs a WEBVTT header on the first line and uses a period (.) instead of a comma (,) before the milliseconds. This converter handles those differences for you and keeps the subtitle text unchanged.
